Australian hosting provider VentraIP has acquired Queensland-based host IntaServe, its third acquisition in the past three months. VentralIP has picked up boutique hosting and domains reseller 9Web and co-location and dedicated server company GoDedicated, both Australian businesses, since the spring.

IntaServe has over 15,000 customers running over 45,000 services, VentraIP says, and once they are all migrated to the larger company’s Dell cloud infrastructure the brand will be retired. VentraIP says that most customers will pay the same price for the equivalent hosting plan, although IntaServe’s free hosting will be discontinued. IntaServe was acquired by Hostway back in 2005, and subsequently purchased by current CEO Jon Eaves in 2012.

VentraIP boasted over 75,000 customers after the GoDedicated acquisition, and calls itself Australia’s largest independent domain name registrar. The company made over $4 million in revenue in 2014 on 57 percent growth.

CEO Angelo Giuffrida said the acquisition adds over $1.4 million (AUD) in annualized revenue, and sets up larger moves by the company going forward.

“The web hosting industry is undergoing a huge consolidation period and it is important that partners and acquirers are carefully chosen to ensure stability and customer retention,” said Eaves. “We know that the IntaServe customers are in the best hands, and will have a whole new suite of additional products to help grow their businesses”.

VentraIP posted an FAQ to its site detailing the network configuration changes necessary for smooth migration.

The terms of the deal were not disclosed, but Giuffrida told iTnews that it was a “seven-figure amount.”

The huge consolidation Eaves refers to includes Australia’s Digital Pacific acquiring SMB host Crucial on Monday, after Crucial itself snapped up another Auzzie host and domain firm AVS Networks in February. Also this week Dutch telecom KPN acquired cloud host IS Group, while Level 3 acquired DDoS defender Black Lotus last week.
